Steph Curry’s late-game heroics lift the Warriors to an overtime victory over the Boston Celtics

Steph Curry’s dagger rainbow 3-pointer in overtime handed the underdog Warriors a surprising 132-126 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night at Chase Centre. With three straight wins, the Warriors improve to 13-14 on the season.

The Warriors won a heated fourth quarter and overtime with the help of Trayce Jackson-Davis, Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Curry, and Klay Thompson.

Jackson-Davis had his first double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds in just 28 minutes. With 2:20 remaining in overtime, he made a vital block by sprinting into the area to stop Jaylen Brown’s layup and keep the lead at four points. Jackson-Davis was a plus-25 for the team.

Curry finished with 33 points, including six points in overtime on 6-of-11 three-point shooting. He had three against him at halftime and was having foul trouble. Curry was awarded his fifth personal foul with six minutes remaining in the third quarter after Jaylen Brown gave him a lot of grief early in the stanza. Cory Joseph was called off the bench to replace Curry with the Celtics ahead by 13 points.

Curry ignited the fourth-quarter comeback by returning to open the quarter and going the entire twenty-three minutes without being called for a foul. The Celtics led by as much as seventeen points after three quarters. Thompson finished with 24 points and six 3-pointers, while Kuminga had 17 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors continue their three-game home series against Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards on Friday. The Portland Trail Blazers then make an appearance before Golden State departs for Denver to play the Nuggets on Christmas.
