The exhibit will showcase about 250 items selected from The Costume Institute’s permanent collection, with some pieces too delicate to be worn again. The items will be beautifully presented using innovative technologies like AI, GCI, and more, highlighting the themes of land, sea, and sky. Describing the upcoming exhibition, Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, emphasized its tribute to nature and the emotional depth of fashion. “I hope this show will awaken a deeper appreciation for the sensory experience of fashion,” Bolton expressed. Anticipated guests include the Kardashian family, Blake Lively, Hailey Bieber, and Timothee Chalamet. Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony, and Ashley Graham will be hosting, with YouTuber Emma Chamberlain slated to conduct red carpet interviews with the stars. Last year’s gala paid tribute to the legacy of the talented designer Karl Lagerfeld.
